It is just with the wind up that it begins to break apart, although smack-up finale rescues it from the ‘red’. Admirably staged and you will intelligently dialogued, it’ll have no great difficulties in the way of life off the extremely ugly title.» [ 8 ]

Cobb), and you can a good scuffling celebrity (Evelyn Keyes) whose aunt (Nina Foch) spent some time working at the local casino and you may dated an excellent corrupt investigator (Jim Bannon). It is primarily a matter of viewing Mr. Powell undergo their paces stylishly when you are a big shed out-of actors and you will stars promote your vintage service. Evelyn Keyes takes on the nice nothing woman whom brings forth the brand new best in your and Ellen Received is the smooth and you will slinky vixen exactly who gets him on jams. Thomas Gomez is fatty because villain and Lee J. Cobb does an alternate in a position trip as an exhausted police inspector exactly who finally closes the way it is.
